We're currently seeking a talented food-service professional to oversee the year-round operation of our busy kitchen and deli departments.  The Good Hart General Store kitchen manager works alongside our storefront manager in the successful operation of the business.  The position is full time, year-round and does include management duties as well as cross-over responsibilities in the store-front.

Ideal candidate must have impressive food-service, organizational, and supervisory skills.   Must love dogs and be genuinely interested in food preparation and putting our customers first.  Must also be accustomed to working in a very fast past environment.

Job Description:

  • Oversees the successful operation of our deli and bakery
  • Works successfully alongside our storefront manager in the overall operation of the business
  • Assists in all planning processes
  • Manages deli and bakery team
  • Manages physical inventory and ordering/purchasing of product
  • Assures quality and consistency in all product
  • Follows all kitchen policies and procedures provided by management
  • Assures team compliance in food handling, rotation, storage, etc.
  • Introduces new menu offerings during the off season planning
  • Manages all kitchen and deli equipment and machinery
  • Maintains and clean, safe, and well organized work space
  • Promotes effective communication throughout the business
  • Assures "Customer is always right" mentality and a "Customer first" approach
  • Develops and maintains vendor relationships
  • Assures dress code and grooming guidelines
  • Loves providing exemplary team work and customer service skills
  • Enjoys learning
  • Creates a positive and friendly work environment

Experience/Skills Required:

  • Previous food-service experience and/or applicable degree required
  • Genuine interest in food prep and service preferred
  • Previous management or supervisory experience required (direct or indirect - up to 8 staff members)
  • Basic computer skills required

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to ascend/descend ladders
  • Ability to comfortably lift up to 40 pounds
  • Comfortable standing, bending, and lifting for long periods of time

DELI & BAKERY ATTENDANTS (posted May 13, 2019)

We're currently seeking energetic full or part time attendants to join our kitchen team for the 2019 season.  Both part-time and full-time positions available.  Positions include food preparation, grilling, baking, and taking/fulfilling customer orders.

Ideal candidate must have have previous work experience in a fast paced retail or food-service experience.   Must love dogs and be genuinely interested in food preparation and putting our customers first.  Must also be accustomed to working in a very fast paced, team environment.

Job Description:

  • Assists with all food preparation and baking
  • Assists in fulfilling mail order shipments
  • Assists in waiting on deli/bakery customers
  • Assists with inventory process
  • Assures quality and consistency in all product
  • Follows all kitchen policies and procedures provided by management
  • Assures personal compliance in food handling, rotation, storage, etc.
